The Commune Movement is an important event in the Medieval French urban history and is viewed as a typical bourgeois revolution. The Commune Movement’s narrative underwent great changes in the19 th century.Historians at that time interpreted this event as a bourgeois revolution,underscored its revolutionary significance, and emphasized the role of the third estate. The change of narratives of this event,from the uprising to the revolution,was determined by the change of ideological trends and historical writings at that time. By analyzingthenarrative change,this article clarifies the interchange between the production of specific historical knowledge and its realistic background.
