Co-hosted by the North America Photography Association, the Euro- pean Union Association, the second session of ＂Global Chinese New Year Photography Competition＂ opened in New York on May 5th. The committee received nearly 30,000 pieces of works from Asia, America, Europe, and Oceania and 200 pieces of out- standing works were selected. Accord- ing to Li Liyan, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, the Spring Festival is the most important reflection of Chinese cultural traditions and values.
