作为南亚地区发展中国家的斯里兰卡,是语言规划和政策从殖民地社会到民族独立政治环境演变的一个典型案例。斯里兰卡的语言规划与政策的演变主要分为后殖民时期和独立时期两大阶段,经历了语言政策从单语制到双语制,再到多语制的历史演变。这反映了由政治家掌控的族群争取语言权利的诉求过程,是语言民族主义、语言冲突和族群关系相互作用等因素共同影响的结果。
As a developing country in South Asia,Sri Lanka is a typical case of the evolution of language planning and policy from colonial society to national independent political environment.The evolution of language planning and policy in Sri Lanka is divided into two stages:post-colonial period and independent period.It has experienced the development of language policy from monolingualism to bilingualism and then to multilingual.It reflects the process of the demands of the ethnic groups led by politicians to fight for the language rights,it is also the result of mutual influence of factors such as language nationalism,language conflict and interaction of ethnic groups.
