通过报刊阅读发展学生的英语阅读能力

Developing Students' English Reading Competence by Way of Reading English Newspapers

英语阅读既是我国英语学习者的学习目的,又是其学习手段。但是目前高中英语教学阅读量不足、阅读材料陈旧且与现实生活脱节,结果导致学生知识面狭窄、教学达不到《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》中的要求等问题,直接造成学生的英语水平难以提高。本文借助实例对通过报刊阅读发展学生的英语阅读能力进行了研究,发现通过英文报刊阅读有助于发展学生的英语阅读能力,对英语教学起着积极的作用。

English reading is not only the learning purpose of English learners, but also their learning method. But currently some problems exist in senion high school English reading teaching. Namely the limited reading amount and the outdated reading materials that have nothing to do with students' real life. These problems limit students' knowledge and result in substandard English reading teaching according to The National English Curriculum Standards for Common Senior High School. Therefore it's difficult to enhance the students' English competence. In order to solve the problems mentioned above, this research studied the application of students' English newspapers to the development of students' English competence through a practical example and found that reading English newspapers contributes to the development of students' English competence, and plays a positive role in English teaching.
