环保术语的汉英翻译例释

An Exemplified Study on Chinese-English Translation of Environmental Protection Terms

随着社会发展和科技进步,国内的环保新概念层出不穷,大量新术语不断进入语言。然而目前与环保术语相关的翻译类词典和文章仍十分滞后,给翻译工作带来种种不便。在同国际接轨的过程中,我们必然涉及大量环保词汇的外译问题。术语词汇是科技语言的核心,整理出部分较集中并已被认可的环保术语及其英文译名,并加以归类,有望能对的相关翻译工作有所帮助。

With the development of society and the progress of science and technology, new concepts of environmental protection emerge in an endless stream. Accordingly, a large number of new terms arise. Currently, related articles and dictionaries on environ- mental protection terms are rare, which brings a lot of inconvenience to the translation work. In the process of being in line with inter- national standards, Chinese translators have to deal with the Chinese-English translation work of many typically Chinese terms. Terms are crucial to scientific and technological languages. This paper sorts out some essential and accepted environmental protection terms as well as their English translations, in the hope that it will do some help to the future translation work.
