功能视阙下英汉新闻话语之主语对比研究

AContrastive Study on the Subject Construction in English and Chinese News Discourses : A Functional Approach

本文以系统功能语言学内的加的夫语法为理论依据,以英汉四则新闻语篇为对比文本,分析四个文本主语建构的差异,并探讨不同语篇主语构建差异的原因,以期为新闻话语研究提供一个新思路。研究发现:英汉新闻语篇在主语类型、主语填充成分、主语单位深度等方面确实存有差异。本文认为有三点可以阐释这些差异:(1)意识形态不同;(2)认知语境不同;(3)新闻价值不同。

This thesis draws on the Cardiff Grammar, one model of Systemic Functional Linguistics, as a source of theoretical frameworks, and on four news discourses in English and Chinese as analytical-targeted texts, with an aim to make a systematic contras- tive analysis of the subject construction in those four news texts, and to clarify reasons behind the differences, which will thus gain new insights into the studies of news discourse. The analysis reveals that the four selected news texts do differ in such aspects as the subject type, the filling components of subject, together with subject＇ s depth of unit. And it is argued that three possible reasons, including, 1 ） different ideologies; 2） differences of the cognitive context ; 3） different news values, could account for those discrepancies.
