1 Introduction
As architects, urban designers and master- planners, we design buildings and the spaces between them--what we refer to as urban glue--which cumulatively become cities. The design of each of these reahns overlaps, and it is impossible to address one without consid- ering the other. Our projects span continents, cultures and climates. Designing at the urban scale is a complex undertaking, whether it involves a masterplan for a city, a regeneration scheme for a neighbourhood, or the design for a new public transport system.
