唐文治《读易提纲》述要

A brief interpretation of Tang Wenzhi's Outline of The Book of Changes

《读易提纲》是唐文治先生所作《十三经提纲》第一卷有关《周易》部分的入门纲要。《读易提纲》虽为"开示初学读经门径"所作,但并非搜辑旧说,而是贯注了蔚芝先生对于易学的基本理解,是我们探寻蔚芝先生易学思想的重要途径。从《读易提纲》可见,蔚芝先生论《易》始终有一以贯之的精神,所谓"惟折衷于圣传"。具体来说,一是基于孔门解《易》之家法,强调通过象数义例来通达言、象并进而发明圣义,在象数义例的使用上以《十翼》为界;二则是在义理的阐发上同样以《十翼》为准绳。这不仅是理解蔚芝先生易学整体之枢要,也是"千古解《易》之准的"。

Outline of The Book of Changes,written by Tang Wenzhi, is the first part of his book Outlines o f the Thirteen Clas-sics. With the aim of introducing The Book o f Changes to beginners,Tang Wenzhi in this book not only collects studies by former scholars,but also show＇s his basic understandings of The Bookof Changes,a mirror of his philosophy. From the book we can seethat Tang intentionally tries to make his exegesis of The Book of Changes only according to the Confucian Commentaries of The Book of tte Changes,that is , on the one hand,Tang expounds the principles of The Book kf tte Changes within the frame of im-ages and numbers that has been adopted in Commentaries; on the other hand,the principles he tries to elucidate are also subject to Commentaries. These two standards are the key to understanding Tang？s studies of The Book of Changes as well as the essence of this great book.
