To achieve the economic sustainability of digital preservation, the managers must have a deep understanding of digital preservation cost. This article, by conducting an in-depth investigation of classical theory and practice of digital preservation cost of foreign countries, analyzes and summarizes the main factors affecting the cost of digital preservation.Itreveals some laws of the dis- tribution and composition of the digital preservation cost, so as to provide reference for relevant domestic organizations.
