Using a range of medical techniques to make infertile couples get pregnancy is collectively called assisted reproductive technology (ART), which is dissimilar from natural pregnancy in many respects such as in vitro and in vivo environments. Gametes and early embryos suffer from iatrogenic stress, and will cause an increase m children health risks. Currently, it is widely believed that ART is related to the abnormal expression of imprinted genes, and then affects the health of offspring. This paper reviews the impacts of ART on genomic imprinting from three aspects such as the gametes, preimplantation embryo and the placenta, which summarizes the relationship between assisted reproduction technology and the abnormal imprinted genes.
