Distinctive Features of Tones of Yuxi Dialect in Wu Dialect

本文研究了吴语虞西话的声调系统，考察的区别特征有基频、时长和发声类型。虞西话有8个声调，阴调类和阳调类之间存在发声类型的差异。大部分调类可以通过基频曲线进行区分，新派阳平和阴去的基频曲线十分接近，在这一情况下，发声类型的差别起到了区分调类的重要作用。依据时长，可以将入声和其他的调类区分开来。

This paper studies the tone system of the Yuxi variety of Wu dialect, based on the parameters including pitch, duration and OQ. There are 8 tones in Yuxi, with significant differences between the categories of Yin and Yang. While most tones in Yuxi can be clearly distinguished from each other by pitch, the pitch curves of Yangping tone and Yinqu tone are very similar. For the latter case phonation plays a crucial role in distinguishing one from the other. Rusheng, on the other hand, can be differentiated from the other tones by means of duration.
