Missing Wolf is lacking in clearness and various explanations can be obtained from it, but it shows Jia Pingwas concern about and thinking of existential predicament of human being on the whole. The wolf in the novel is not only material object, but also a symbol. The tragedy of the wolf is a metaphor of human beings tragedy. Man and nature are in contradictory position which forms deep reasons for dilemma of modern people. The novel criticizes the reality of human alienation profoundly.
