摘要 由旅美华人作曲家盛宗亮作曲、盛宗亮和黄哲伦联合编剧、赖声川导演、叶锦添担任舞美设计的英文原版歌剧《红楼梦》去年9月在美国旧金山歌剧院首演获得好评后,经过了今年3月香港艺术节的历练,9月8日在北京保利剧院开启了盛大的中国内地巡演北京站首演。虽然此前两站演出均引起了巨大轰动,在中国内地的首演也早早被社会各界高度关注。 Although the first two cities that hosted Dream of the Red Chamber garnered tremendous attention, which the mainland Chinese media reported widely, it was uncertain how Chinese audiences would accept and interpret this production at its China premiere. It turns out Chinese audiences' perspectives emanated from the classic novel and original television drama. Few people were willing to wave off the dreamlike mist from Cao Xueqin's literary tome and follow the dramatic music and musical drama devised by Bright Sheng. This is a Dream of the Red Chamber opera written for non-Chinese. Some unease in acclimatization did appear when it landed in China.
