一部《世说新语》写尽了魏晋时期矛盾的士人婚恋观,让人看尽魏晋南北朝士人的生活百态。《世说新语》的婚恋观存在着矛盾性:一方面,宗族壁垒难以打破,世家大族不与低层士子通婚;另一方面,《世说新语》中又表现出难得一见的女性追求婚姻爱情自主自由,女性地位较之前得到很大的提高。

The book of A New Account of Tales of the World reveals the scholars＇ views on the marriage in the period of Wei and Jin dynasties, as well as their ups and downs in the life. The conflict in views of the marriage and love is as follows： on one hand, the clan barriers are hard to break and the superior family is not married to that of inferior; on the other hand, the book depicts female pursuing marriage autonomy and female social status is greatly improved.
