Research on the Life Attitude of Bai Juyi Exiled in Zhongzhou

白居易在忠州刺史任上,堪称勤于政事,但对于一向"外服儒风"有更大政治抱负的诗人来说,仍有沦落天涯的弃掷感;白居易忠州期间种树栽花之举,可视为诗人在遭遇现实挤压之后对"内宗梵行"人生理念的践行;此间的饮酒、优游之举,其实也是诗人超越眼前苦难、避祸全身的人生策略。

When Bai Juyi was appointed the governor of Zhongzhou, he was absorbed in government affairs, but for a poet with greater political ambition, he also had a sense of being abandoned. He was getting interested in gardening when living in Zhongzhou, which can be regarded as an implement of his philosophy of life – Confucianism outside and Buddhism inside when he suffered oppression. His behaviours such as drinking, traveling were his life strategies so as to avoid sufferings and to preserve himself.
