The Evaluation of Kaifeng Cultural Bookstore's Historical Effect

开封文化书社是五四爱国运动中诞生的进步社团。书社以输入文化为宗旨,代售各种有益书报,每周定期召开友谊大会,对爱国学生和河南教育界人士提供优待,开办读书会,同时积极开展售书助赈活动。书社是宣传马克思主义的重要阵地,有力地推动了河南地方党组织的建立,支持了爱国运动,推广了白话文,促进了河南地方文化教育的发展,开化了社会风气,在历史上起到了进步作用。

The progressive community of Kaifeng cultural bookstore was born in May Fourth Movement. The aim of bookstore was to introduce culture. Meanwhile, the bookstore sold all kinds of useful books and newspapers, held friendship conference regularly every week, provided preferential treatment to patriotic students and educators in Henan, conducted reading ac- tivity and sold books to relief drought. The bookstore was one of the important position to promote marxism and promoted the establishment of the local Party organization in Henan. At the same time, the bookstore supported the patriotic move- ment, promoted the vernacular Chinese, promoted the development of Henan local culture education and civilized society. That is to say, the bookstore played a progressive role in history.
