Microvascular invasion(MVI) is one of the independent predictors for postoperative recurrence and metastasis inhepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). At present, pathologic diagnosis is the only way to identify. However, with the development of imaging technology, imaging modalities like ultrasound, CT, MRI, and PET-CT/MRI has beenincreasingly reportedto predict MVI in HCC by using quantitative parameters, which can reflect thetumor microenvironment, functionofcell, matter composition and hemodynamic. The purpose of this article was to review the advances of preoperative imaging modalities in predicting MVI in HCC.
