美版《甄嬛传》播出之后,其字幕翻译便成了一个热议话题,学者们对其褒贬不一。结合具体实例对该剧字幕误译的原因进行分析发现:译者过于拘泥原文的字面意思,出现了死译;形式和意义分离,造成译文中文化的扭曲与变形;对原文语气理解不当,而导致情感表达失色。上述原因最终导致译文质量下降,并影响了该剧的传播效果。

The subtitle translation of Empresses in the Palace becomes a hot topic after the broadcast and scholars have different judgments on it .This paper analyses the following reasons causing mistransla-tion with specific examples： the translator sticks too precisely to the literal meaning of the original text,which leads to dead translation ; the separation of form and meaning results in distortion and deformation of culture in translation ; improper understanding of the tone causes the fading of emotional color. The abovereasons eventually cause deterioration of translation quality and affect the spread of this TV play and Chi-nese-English cultural communication.
