The Founding and Evolution of Chamber of Commerce in Zhangjiakou

清末民国初年,全国各地商会组织先后建立,组织机构也逐步完善。张家口的商务机构起始于清光绪末期商务总局,但商会正式成立的确切时间是清宣统元年,直至1950年底第一届张家口工商业联合会成立结束。数十年的历程,期间社会的变革引起商会组织多次变动。张家口商会(务)组织名称及其机构的沿革经历了商务总局、商务公所、张家口商务总会、察哈尔张家口总商会、察哈尔张家口商会、察哈尔张家口市商会、张家口市工商业联合会等阶段。

In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the Chamber of Commerce orga-nizations in China were successfully founded and improved. The commerce organization in Zhangjiakou started at the General Administration of Commerce in the last years of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dy-nasty, and Zhangjiakou Chamber of Commerce was founded in the first year of Emperor Xuantong. But it did not end until at the end of the 1950s when Zhangjiakou Confederation of Trade Unions was estab-lished. The social reform of dozens of years resulted in the changes of commerce organizations. The evolu-tion of the names and institutions went through the General Administration of Commerce, Business Hall, Zhangjiakou General Business Association, the General Chamber of Commerce in Zhangjiakou （Chahar Province）, Zhangjiakou Chamber of Commerce （Chahar Province）, Zhangjiakou City Industry and Commerce Federation, etc.
