岢岚县境内长城小考

A Brief Analysis of the Great Wall in Kelan

处于晋西北的边城岢岚,作为治所出现较晚且名称多次变更。因其地理位置,多以晋西北的军事重镇出现在历史上,尤其是北部边患严重的宋、明时期,其军事防御工程多有修筑。岢岚也因此留下了许多军事防御工程的遗迹,其境内的长城就是其一重要组成部分。相关学者关于这些长城的修筑年代在近年多有讨论,就历史文献和现有的考古发现来看,岢岚境内的长城是渐次形成,现存遗迹主体为宋代修筑、在明代有修缮利用。

Kelan,a border town,is located in the northwest of Shanxi.It became a local government site later,and its name changed many times.For its special military location,in history Kelan was always seen as a military town especially in Song and Ming Dynasty,whenthere were troubles in the north frontier and many military defense projects were built in Kelan.As a result,many military defense sites remained,in which the Great Wall is an important part.There are a lot of discussion about the construction time of the Kelan Great Wall in recent years.According to the historical documents and the archaeology findings,relevant scholars think that the Great Wall was gradually formed and its main body was mainly built in Song Dynastyand restored and used in Ming Dynasty.
