Breeding and Utilization of Restorer Line Wanhui 56 in Rice

万恢56是重庆三峡农业科学院以广亲和材料02428与籼粳交恢复系万恢88杂交后,再先后与万恢86、江恢151和广亲和恢复系成恢448复交选育而成的籼型水稻新恢复系,具有恢复力强、配合力高、中抗稻瘟病、耐热性强和米质较优等特点,于2016年7月通过重庆市品种审定委员会田间技术鉴定,所配组合万优956(万9A/万恢56)和万优56(万73A/万恢56)于2017年5月通过重庆市品种审定。

Wanhui 56, derived from the cross between 02428, a wide compatibility（WC） line, and Wanhui 88, an indica/japonica restorer line, and the subsequent multiple crosses with Wanhui 86, Jianghui 151 and Chenghui 448 （ a WC restorer line） , is a new indica restorer line in rice developed by the Three Gorges Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Chongqing. It is characteristic of strong restoring ability, high combining ability, medium blast resistance, strong heat tolerance and good grain quality. It was technically identified by Chongqing Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in July, 2016, and its hybrids Wanyou 956 （Wan 9A/Wanhui 56） and Wanyou 56 （Wan 73A/ Wanhui56） were both registered and released for commercialization by the committee in May, 2017.
