As one of the major synthetic fibers, polyacrylonitrile occupies an important position in the chemi- cal fiber industry. Modification technology of polyacrylonitrile fiber is the key to the differential polyacrylonitrile fiber development, and the expansion of its functionality by modification is also an important direction of future development. Modification technology and variety of polyacrylonitrile fiber were introduced and suggestions about polyacrylonitrile fiber modification were put forward in order to enhance the added value of modified products and broaden its application domain.
