警务人员只有通过自我发展不断更新已有知识、增强现有技能、发展业务水平,在职业生涯和事业生涯上获得长足发展,才能适应瞬息万变的社会生活。自我发展既来自个人选择,又取决于日常环境所决定的需求。参与在职培训或自我教育是个体自我发展的两种方式,系统参与在职培训和自我教育的改善过程在增强警察的专业水平、提高其执行任务的有效性、确保社会安全等方面至关重要。

Police officers are constantly updating their knowledge, enhancing their skills, expanding their professional levels and develo- ping their careers through ego - development in order to adapt to the ever - changing social life. Ego - development stems from both individual choices and the needs of the daily environment. There are two ways of individual ego - development including both in - service training and self - education. The involvement of systematically participating in in - service training and self - education is critically important in enhancing the professionalism of the police, improving the effectiveness of their actions, and ensuring social security, etc.
