摘要
本论文对中外英语语言学类期刊论文中转述动词使用情况进行对比分析,试图找出中国研究者和英语本族语研究者在研究型转述动词、认知型转述动词和话语型转述动词等使用方面的相同点和不同点,并试图分析其背后的原因,对英语语言学类英语论文写作具有指导意义。本研究以Hyland提出的转述动词的理论框架为基础,并在英语语言学类期刊中收集中国研究者和英语本族语研究者的期刊论文各一篇,对转述动词进行分类、对比。研究结果发现中国研究者和英语本族语研究者对转述动词的使用有相似之处,也存在显著差异。英语本族语研究者使用转述动词的数量明显高于中国研究者。中国研究者和英语本族语研究者在研究型转述动词的使用上几近相同,使用话语型转述动词都比较多。且中国研究者更倾向于使用认知型转述动词。
This paper makes a comparative analysis of the reporting verbs in English journal articles of linguistics written by native English researchers and Chinese researchers to find out the similarities and differences in three aspects: research verbs,cognitive verbs and discourse verbs and tries to analyze the reasons, which offer guidance to the academic writing of English linguistic papers. Based on the theoretical framework of reporting verbs proposed by Hyland, one of the journals written by Chinese researchers selected from CNKI and one of the journals written by native English researchers from Science Direct are classified and contrasted. The results show that Chinese researchers and English native researchers have both similarities and differences in the use of reporting verbs. The use of reporting verbs in English native researchers' journals is significantly higher than that of Chinese researchers. Chinese researchers and native researchers of English are almost identical in the use of research verbs, and both of them tend to use a lot of discourse verbs. What's more, Chinese researchers prefer to use more cognitive verbs than native English researchers.
