摘要
翻译可以分为理解、表达、取舍三个环节。理解既包括理解原作,也包括理解翻译的具体情境。对原作的理解要接近、达到甚至超过作者的水平。在理解的基础上,表达作者清楚表达、希望表达甚至应该表达的意思,并视翻译情景的需要,决定以与原文相同、相近或完全不同的形式来表达原作的意思。本文以具体例子,说明译者如何通过批判性思维,达到上述三方面的要求,并提出翻译教学应放在培养批判性思维能力上。
Translation is a process of comprehension,expression and adaptation. Comprehension includes understanding both the source text and the circumstance of translation,the former to the extent of approaching,equaling or even surpassing that of the author. On the basis of understanding,the translator should express what the author has clearly expressed,intends to express or even should have expressed. The circumstance of translation will determine whether the form of translation is identical with,similar to or completely different from the source text. The present paper uses examples to illustrate how these objectives can be achieved through critical thinking.
