On Historiographical Achievement by Guangxi Native Scholars in Qing Dynasty

广西本土学者的学术水平到清代有了长足的进步,在理学、史学、音韵学、墨学、诗词等领域可以与广东或中原等先进地区相提并论。在史学领域里,广西学者的成就相当突出,表现为:创作了一批具有开创性意义的当代史新著,记载了清代历史中一些重要的事件和内容,可补正史之不足;在史评史论等方面也提出了一些颇有新意的理论和观点;在方志编修方面也作出了丰富的成绩,保存了广西地方历史文化的相关内容。

Guangxi native scholars in the Qing Dynasty had made great progress in new Confucianism, historiography, phonology, Mohism,poetry and other fields,and their academic achievement can be compared with that in the developed areas such as Guangdong Province or Center China. In historiography,Guangxi native scholars had prominent achievement,which includes three aspects. The first one is a number of groundbreaking histories on contemporary history,which record many historic events in the history of the Qing Dynasty,and they can make up for the inadequacy of official histories. The second one is some original theories and ideas in historical criticism and theory. The final one is local chronicles which keep the relevant content of the local history and culture of Guangxi.
