With the continuous development and the reformation needs of city power grid,in recent years,the frequency of the cable installation in winter is higher and higher.Under low temperature,some plastic insulation and jacket material in power cable will become hard and brittle.If the cable is improperly forced during lying out,its sheath will be broken,and even the insulation will be damaged.Thus,taking the project of 220 kV XLPE insulated power cable installation in Changchun region＇s winter as an example,the experience of cable installation in the winter and the corresponding preventive measures which should be taken are introduced in detail.It is hoped to help the power cable installation in winter achieve good effects.
