While practicing her feminist body politics, Angela Carter takes the cultural constructivist view of body on the one hand, and extends her critical vision to the materiality of the female body on the other. In The Passion of New Eve, Angela Carter examines the cultural fashioning of the female body, such as the mythologies of consumption, matriarchy, and patriarchy, points out that the female body is the conceptual production of mythological discourses. Through the transsexual journey of Evelyn, Carter represents the pluralistic sensual experiences of the body, explores the transgressive potentiality of the female body based on the materiality of body politics, and disrupts the colonialization of the female mind by traditional western cultural ideas.
