This interview centers on relations between the digital media and film, as well as the relative creation issues of film as a technology driven art rather than a text-oriented one. Greenaway assumes that the age of film for cinema was over, and what is more, a cinema is no longer the most popular occasion for watching a movie. The most characteristic feature of this transition is the intrusion of TV language to cinema, which will become the future of cinema in the end and achieve the autonomy of cinema language. Even though, from the perspective of commercial aesthetics, audiermes' appreciation is always left behind the state of the art, every filmmaker ought to have his own technology. Greenaway knocks artists from the very pedestal of "superhero", and emphasizes that the equipment is making tremendous changes in the possibilities to organize cinema.
