Responses to and Reflections on “Compulsory Interpretation”

张江教授提出的"强制阐释论"在国内外文学理论界受到普遍关注。由"强制阐释论"所引发的讨论,对于如何评价近百年来的西方文论,如何看待西方文论阐释中国文艺实践的有效性,如何建设中国文论体系和文论话语,均具有重要价值。本文梳理了张江教授所提出的"强制阐释论"的内涵、意义、特征,以及国内外学者对"强制阐释论"的回应,还从概念、范畴和理论批评的边界等方面对"强制阐释论"进行了分析。

＂Compulsory interpretation＂ proposed by Professor Zhang Jlang laas recelveu wiuc attention and aroused much discussion both at home and abroad. The discussion on ＂com- pulsory interpretation＂ is valuable for the evaluation of western literary theory of the recent 100 years, for the evaluation of its effectiveness to the practice of Chinese literature and for the construction of the Chinese literary theory. This paper gives a review of the connota- tions, significance and features of ＂compulsory interpretation＂ proposed by Professor Zhang Jiang and then analyses the responses to ＂compulsory interpretation＂ by scholars in China and around the world. The paper also explores the issues of ＂compulsory interpretation＂ from its concepts, categories and the boundaries of literary criticism.
