The Impact and Trend of Major Immigration Actions Taken by the Trump Administration

本文以穆斯林禁令为例,对特朗普执政以来的移民政策进行了分析。同时通过对移民政策影响的评估和未来政策走向的研判,认为当前移民政策助长了美国社会对穆斯林的恐惧和仇恨,引起了司法和行政部门、州和联邦政府之间的纷争,也打击了特朗普本人的权威。尽管目前移民改革还处于变化过程中,更多的政策有待出台,但政策收紧是大势所趋。

This paper examines the major immigration actions taken by the Trump administration to date, in particular the executive orders on the original and revised Muslim-targe- ting travel bans It also assesses the developments that have occurred since the signing of these executive orders, including legal challenges and related policy developments, and holds that the current immigration policy has fueled the fear and hatred of Muslims in Amer- ican society, caused disputes between the judiciary and the executive branch, the state and the federal government, and undermined the authority of Trump himself. It concludes that though the current immigration reform is still in a state of change and more policies are to be introduced, policy tightening is inevitable.
