摘要
为了研究晚清时期中国域外小说的引入情况,现从权力差异视角对当时的翻译现象进行分析。通过理论介绍,事实例证和影响分析,研究了当时中外翻译中的单向流动、译本的选择视角、翻译策略、译本接受度等。研究表明,晚清国家整体弱势和文学强势使得小说翻译既处于被动地位,又有一定的主动权,并最终实现了解殖民的翻译目的。
In the late 19th century, China was transiting from a feudal society into a semi-colonial and semi-feudal country. How about the situation of the novel translations between China and foreign countries across the power differentials. The current paper is getting to explore the fact by means of introducing the post-colonial translation theory, giving evidences and analyzing the relevant effects. In the paper, the phenomenon of the asymmetric importation of translated novels, the option of original texts to be translated, the adoption of cer- tain translating strategies and the recognition for the novels in China and so on are studied respectively. It shows that Chinese novels translated during the late 19th century conformed to the theory of power differential and had its own uniqueness. China belonged to the weak group, but the literature was considered by Chinese people to be powerful, which led to some initiative in the passive position. The introduction of a large number of foreign novels commenced the process of decolonization in the fight with the imperialism.
