The View of Political Loyalty in Confucian Political Ideology

政治忠诚是儒家政治思想的重要范畴,儒家倡导的政治忠诚表现为两个方面,一是强调臣民对君的忠诚,要求臣民政治上忠诚于君主、服从于君主,二是强调君主要忠诚于天下,为天下谋福祉、赢得民心。这两个方面的忠诚主张都有益于君主统治的稳固,故儒家的政治忠诚观在古代社会能够产生巨大影响并延绵不绝。

Political loyalty advocated by Confucianism is an important domain of Confucian political ideology,which is reflected in two aspects as follows： one is the people＇s loyalty and allegiance to the monarch; the other emphasizes the monarch＇s loyalty to and care for his people. The loyalty of both sides is beneficial for the stability of the monarchy. Therefore,the Confucian viewof political loyalty can have a continuous and tremendous impact in ancient society.
