解读《女勇士》与《喜福会》的叙事相似性

Narrative Similarities Between The Woman Warrior and The Joy Luck Club

作为当代闻名遐迩的华裔女作家,汤亭亭与谭恩美都为华裔美国文学的兴起作出了卓著贡献。凭借独特的叙事魅力,汤亭亭的《女勇士》与谭恩美的《喜福会》一经出版便深受海内外读者的喜爱。通过比较分析两部作品在叙事策略上的东方特色和叙事结构上的西方特质,归纳总结出缀段性叙事、传统元素及"四季"原型结构在两部作品中的运用。同时,基于两位作家的华裔女性身份,简要概述两部作品中的女性叙事声音及其创作意图。

As the most prominent female representatives in Chinese American Literature, Maxing Hong Kingston and Amy Tan have made a great contribution to the development of Chinese American Literature. Owing to the unique glamour of narration, their masterpieces, The Woman Warrior and The Joy Luck Club, are popular among readers of the whole world. This article will focus on the analysis about the influence of culture and identity on the narrative skills of the two writers. By analyzing the narrative strategy of Chinese characteristics and the narrative structure of western features, this article will conclude the application of episodic narration, traditional elements and the archetypal structure of four seasons in the two works. Moreover, considering that both of them are female Chinese American writers, the author will also explain the narrative voice of the two works from the perspective of feminist narratology so as to summarize the creative intention of the two works.
