诗歌英译中语言转换的转喻解读——以许渊冲《李白诗选》英译本为例

On the Interpretation of Cognitive Metonymy in C-E Translation of Chinese Poetry:A Case Study of Selected Poems of Li Bai Translated by Xu Yuanchong

作为一种常规翻译技巧,翻译中的语言转换已成为翻译界和相关专业人士毋庸置疑的翻译法则,但其背后所蕴含的认知动因学界讨论甚少。运用认知转喻理论,以《李白诗选》许渊冲英译本为例,分析语言转换这一常规翻译技巧中存在的矩阵域与次域、同一矩阵域中次域与次域之间的转喻机制,以期更好地阐释翻译中语言转换技巧背后的认知理据,促进对翻译理论与实践研究的理解。

As one of the conventional skills of translation,the conversion of languages has been an undisputed principle for translators and experts in translation field.However,the cognitive motivation behind it is relatively lack of discussion.Taking Selected Poems of Li Bai translated by Xu Yuanchong as an example,the paper analyzes the cognitive mechanisms existing in the conversion of languages,namely metonymy between matrix domain and sub-domain and metonymy between sub-domains within one matrix domain,in the hope of better accounting for the cognitive motivation behind conversion of languages in translation and promoting understanding of both translation theory and its practice.
