英汉政治社论语篇态度资源对比研究——基于评价理论的新闻语篇分析

A Contrastive Study On Attitude Resources in English and Chinese Editorials:An Analysis of the Journalistic Discourse with the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

社论作为新闻语篇的支语体,是一种说服性的功能语篇,而涉及政治话题的社论更因负载着一定的意识形态倾向和政治动机而具有很强的意图性和可接受性的特点,其中的评价手段和评价特征值得研究。本文在评价理论态度系统的框架下,以定量分析与定性分析相结合的方法,对比分析英汉政治社论中凸显评价意义的态度资源,揭示其分布特征及产生的语篇人际意义的异同,以期为社论写作和批评性阅读提供一些启示和借鉴。

Editorials, as a sub-genre of journalistic discourse, are designed to express the media＇s attitude and stance through the explanation and the comment on the important events and problems, to inflect and persuade, especially those on political issues which are more ideological, intentional and persuasive. The appraisal means and appraisal features in English and Chinese political editorials are worthy our study. Therefore, this paper, based on the sub-system of ＂Attitude＂ in appraisal theory, explores the similarities and differences on the distribution of attitude resources with their different interpersonal meanings, in English and Chinese editorials by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The findings and results are achieved with the purpose of facilitating the editorial writing and critical reading.
