Paper cutting is a treasure of traditional culture. It mainly includes totem symbols,philosophical symbols,digital symbols and geometric symbols. It has many features such as multi-patterns,graphic sharing and repetition. At the same time,the special shape of paper cutting,performance methods in architectural decorations,modern operas and other fields have been widely used and are playing an important role. This paper introduces the present situation and characteristics of traditional paper-cut culture in China and discusses the application of paper-cut culture in modern design arts.
