李亦园先生的海外华人研究述评

Review of Li Yih-yuan's Studies on Overseas Chinese

评述了李亦园先生在海外华人研究领域的成果,重点是在马来亚半岛麻坡镇的田野调查,以及由此延伸的一系列文化调适思考和对后人的启发。认为李亦园先生是知名人类学家。在他的学术生涯中,海外华人研究是重要的承启之章。他是以人类学研究方法进行海外华人研究的开创者之一,他的学术贡献和人文关怀推动了包括海外华人研究在内的多领域人文学科建设和发展。

As a renown anthropologist, Prof. Li Yih-yuan paid much attention to overseas Chinese studies in his academic career, which was a connecting link in his academic career to expand his anthropo- logical studies from native people in Taiwan Region to variety of fields about Chinese cultures. He was one of the pioneers to study overseas Chinese with the approaches of ethnography and anthropology, and he con- tributed greatly to the development of many humanity and culture disciplines including overseas Chinese studies. This paper reviews Li＇s works on overseas Chinese studies, particularly his fieldwork conducted in Muar of Malaya, and series thoughts on cultural adaptation which inspired academic circles.
