住院精神病患者污名化下的身份抗争

The Identity Struggle of Stigmatized Mental Patients

通过对广州市H精神病院住院病人与医院康复科工作人员的参与观察,对包括精神障碍患者家属、精神障碍康复者,以及精神科医生和社区精神卫生管理人员开展的小组座谈会与深度访谈,分析了精神障碍患者在就诊与住院过程中关于精神病人身份的矛盾心态,揭示了精神障碍患者在机构内的身份认同过程,以及因为标签化和污名化所带来的精神障碍患者对身份的挣扎。精神障碍患者身份的认同过程影响着病人的治疗与康复,研究展现出来的精神障碍患者现实处境进一步揭示了精神病学的社会人文内涵的重要性。

Based on participatory observation of hospitalized patients and staff of rehabilitation depart- ment in H mental hospital in Guangzhou City, as well as panel discussion and in-depth interview with family members of patients with mental disorders, rehabilitees of psychiatric disorders, psychiatrists and com- munity mental health professions, this paper analyzes the ambivalence of hospital inmates towards their i- dentity and their resistance to being labeled as a mental patient during the process of treatment and hospi-talization. The paper also reveals the process of identity recognition of these hospitalized inmates within the system, the negative effects that the stigmatization has on them and the corresponding struggle that they engage themselves in for their identity, which affects their treatment and rehabilitation. The patients＂ realistic situation revealed in the study further demonstrates the significance of the social and cultural connota- tion for psychiatry in contemporary Chinese society.
