Returning to “The Mother Tongue”——On the Feminine Writing in The Earthsea Cycle

娥苏拉·勒瑰恩(1929-)是美国当代文坛享有盛誉的女性作家。她的奇幻文学巨著《地海传奇》六部曲体现了对于女性生存状况、两性关系以及女性话语的思考。在《地海传奇》六部曲创作的30年间,伴随着勒瑰恩女性主义思想的日趋成熟,小说所构建的奇幻世界地海也经历了颠覆与重构。文章从女性话语的构建、地海历史的改写以及性别的超越三个方面,探讨勒瑰恩在《地海传奇》六部曲中对于"母亲的话语"的探寻及其女性书写的尝试。

Ursula K. Le Guin（ 1929-） is a respectable contemporary American female writer. Her fantasy masterpiece The Earthsea Cycle reflects her deep concern upon women＇s living conditions,gender relationships and women＇s way of speaking. Along with her evolving feminist awareness,Le Guin spent over three decades subverting and reconstructing the fantasy world of Earthsea in The Earthsea Cycle. This paper intends to analyze Le Guin＇s exploration of ＂the mother tongue＂and her trials in feminine writing from the perspectives of constructing female discourse,rewriting the history of Earthsea as well as transcending the genders.
