Spring Moon is a representative work of Bette Bao Lord, an American-Chinese woman writer. In the novel,Spring Moon, a woman born in a big, feudalistic family, is traced through the depiction of the five-generation experience of two old-style families. Bette Bao Lord tries to represent a genuine image of China by merging the hundred-year-long history of a family into the changes that happened over the years and historical development in modern Chinese society, and the double-vision and the trans-cultural characteristics of her novel show that the mutual merging of the different cultures of China and America is possible.
