As the reserve talent pool in the national and minority areas, the important goal of the colleges and universities for nationalities is to cultivate talents with innovation ability of scientific research and it has great significance for the region development and the nation progress. Due to various historical reasons, colleges and universities for nationalities do not pay attention to undergraduates＇ innovation ability of scientific research. It causes undergraduate innovation ability is not strong and restrict the future development and further study. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the undergraduate innovation ability of scientific research. The article discusses the necessity and the insufficiency in the colleges and universities for nationalities about cultivating the undergraduates with innovation ability, and provides corresponding constructive suggestions.
