Music Education Development in China's Ordinary Schools in the First Half of the 20th Century

20世纪上半叶我国中小学校音乐教育在音乐教育法规、教材建设上有一定发展,表现为音乐教育正式列入教育政策法规,音乐课成为学校必修课;音乐教材数量增加,教材建设逐渐走向规范化。但由于特殊的社会环境,也存在一些局限,如缺乏全国性的音乐监督、审查机制;音乐师资缺乏,教学水平良莠不齐。

In the first half of the 20th century, music education in terms of laws and regulations and teaching materials construction in China’s elementary and middle schools has developed to a certain extent, which is characterized by： music education is officially listed in the education policies and regulations, and music lessons become school required courses; the number of music teaching materials increases, and the teaching material construction becomes gradually standardized. However, due to the special social environment, there are some limitations： there is no national music supervision and censorship mechanism; and schools are lacking in music teachers and the teaching level is uneven.
