Malicov is the hero in a prize-winning work The Castle, which was awarded the honour of ＂The Russian Booker＂ in 2016. He is a dedicated archaeologist and historian. He is infinitely loyal to the cause of archaeology. Finally he died to defend the holy castle in his heart. The novel title has distinctive symbolic meanings. ＂The Castle＂ refers not only to the physical actual sites, which has become the ruinswhich to human metaphysical ＂castle＂ of spirit, will, and faith. The image of Malicov reflects the deep concern of the writer Aleshkovski about the fate and future of the Russian nation. The writer wants people to understand history and reflect on history, to better understand reality, and to face the dilemma of reality so that they can continue to approach the truth.
