Month Day Evaluation and Its Significance of Public Opinion

月旦评是东汉末年汝南名士许劭、许靖兄弟创办的一个"谈论"平台,他们通过自拟议题、"无复定价"的"核论"方式,品核公卿,裁量执政,被后人视为天下"第一评"。它不仅净化了当时的社会风气、表现了古代正义知识分子"天下为公"的担当与责任,更为重要的是,在大众传媒尚未兴起的中国古代社会,"月旦评"以类似当下流行的自媒体舆论模式,在一定程度上发挥了舆论监督的作用。

Month Day Evaluation is a ＂talk＂ platform founded by celebrities in Ru Nan area Xu Shao and his brother Xu Jing in the late years of the Eastern Han Dynasty.It has been regarded as the ＂first review＂ by posterity for its comments on the officials and the reign,through the ＂nuclear theory＂ method of self-fitting and ＂no repricing＂.It not only purified the social morals of the society at that time,showing the responsibility and obligation of the ancient just intellectuals,who considered ＂the world belongs to all＂.More importantly,when the mass media did not rise yet in ancient China,＂Month Day Evaluation＂,similar to the current popular mode of the public opinion media,to a certain extent,played the role of supervision by public opinion.
