Many operators around the world have shut down 2 G network,three major operators domestic have begun to bring 2 G network logout and frequency recovery into the network development plan. The thesis illustrates 2 G industry chain from the process of the global operators closing the 2 G network,the development of 2 G terminal and 2 G network status domestic. In addition,it conducts multi-dimensional statistical analysis of the proportion,the network standard,the brand and model number of the terminal in China Unicom 2 G network. Finally it summarizes present situation of terminal in China Unicom 2 G network and offers a proposal of 2 G network logout and frequency recovery.
