Traditional Form of Circular Earth Building and Its Modern Interpretation

土楼是中国传统民居中规模最大的一种,其建造方式、空间特点、建筑造型对中国现代建筑创作仍具有一定的借鉴意义。建筑发展的脚步不曾停歇,建筑创作不能只单纯模仿其形式,更要清楚其空间的发展趋势。照搬照抄经典建筑,可以借助其知名度带来一定的商业效益,并协助建筑文化进行跨地域的实体传播,使人不需前往便可感知其魅力;但这些照搬经典形式的建筑由于缺少与地域文化的衔接,其存在具有往往具有孤立性,往往显得生硬刻意,缺乏持久生命力。

The earth building is one of the largest types of Chinese traditional dwellings, and its construction methods, spatial features and architectural modeling still have certain reference significance for Chinese modern architectural creation. This article takes the circular earth building as the research object, to explore and list the related modern architectural exploration examples of its spatial characteristics, through longitudinal comparison of the traditional and modern building, analyze the traditional architectural language of modern translation; and comparing to modern building, analyzes the construction purpose and space quality, and to explore the scientific attitudes and methods of classical architecture and modern deduction in architectural creation.
