小说《克拉丽莎》是英国18世纪著名小说家塞缪尔·理查逊(Samuel Richardson)的代表作,它的成功使英国有了自己的第一部悲剧小说,这部小说主要讲述了美丽娴雅的富家小姐克拉丽莎在婚姻上的不幸遭遇。从叙事理论的视角入手,以小说《克拉丽莎》为例,探讨18世纪英国小说的悲剧性人物模式。

Clarissa is the masterpiece of Samuel Richardson,the 18 th-century famous British novelist.It is the first tragic novel in Britain.This novel mainly tells a story about a beautiful rich girl Clarissa ＇s misfortunes on marriage.From the perspective of narrative theory,the mode of tragic figure in the 18 th-century English novels is discussed in this paper,which will lay a foundation for exploring other forms of characters and image creation in the 18 th-century English novels.
