摘要
移动通信的发展对数字信号处理器提出了越来越高的要求 ,传统的DSP芯片已不能胜任。为了满足移动通信和多媒体领域新应用的需要 ,德州仪器公司提出了开放式多媒体应用平台(OMAP)体系结构 ,并为此设计了OMAP芯片。给出了开放式多媒体应用平台体系结构 ,归纳了其特点 ,并对OMAP15 10芯片的硬件结构和软件构架做了详细总结。从OMAP芯片的技术性能与市场应用角度入手 ,探讨了开放式多媒体应用平台的应用前景。
The development of wireless telecommunication has imposed a higher-performance demand to digital signal processors and the traditional DSP chips will meet the demand no longer. In order to meet the demands of new applications in wireless telecommunication and multi-media fields, Texas Instruments compan put forward the architecture of Open Multimedia Applications Platform and designed chips using the architecture. In this paper, the architecture of OMAP is introduced and the characteristics are summed up. The hardware structure and the software framework of the OMAP1510 chip are specialized. Also, the application prospect of OMAP is discussed in the view of technical performance of OMAP and the applications in market.
