This article summarizes YAO Naili＇ s experience in treating spleen and stomach disease. Spleen and stomach deficiency is the basis of spleen and stomach disease,so the treatment focuses on supplementing the spleen and stomach. Spleen and stomach disease is always associated with emotions,so harmonization should be used to regulate and harmonize liver and spleen in the treatment for spleen and stomach disease. Spleen and stomach are located in Zhongjiao（ the middle energizer,中焦）,which should be treated by balance,to adjust the ups and downs of Yin and Yang,excess and deficiency,cold and heat,dryness and dampness etc. The diseases with characteristics of collateral disease should be treated from the perspective of collateral disease,such as atrophic gastritis and precancerous lesions,refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease,viral hepatitis and posthepatitic cirrhosis. Tongue and pulse should be focused during syndrome differentiation. He also advocates that the treatment should combine macroscopic syndrome differentiation with endoscopic microscopic manifestation.
